We are thrilled to announce that the new Mayor of Chelmsford, Cllr Jannetta Sosin, has chosen Chelmsford CVS as the mayoral charity for 2025–26.

Cllr Smita Rajesh will be Deputy Mayor this year.

We are incredibly proud to have been chosen and can’t wait to begin this special journey. Mayoral events and activities held throughout the year will raise funds in support of Chelmsford CVS work.

The Mayor of Chelmsford said:

“I am delighted to have chosen CVS as my charity for this Mayoral year. They are so important to the many charities we have in Chelmsford . However their brilliant work in the background is rarely recognised. This gives me a chance to raise their profile and support their fundraising “

This opportunity will help Chelmsford CVS to continue to deliver the support we offer to local voluntary organisations, so that charities and community groups across the district can thrive.

Chief Officer, Lorraine Jarvis, said:

We are absolutely delighted to be selected as the Mayor’s Charity this year. It’s an honor and truly exciting opportunity to raise awareness of the vital role all charities play in our communities. We’re looking forward to working with our members to share this platform and inspire more local people to get involved—whether by joining a group, supporting a cause, or volunteering their time in the spirit of the Mayor’s chosen theme Generosity.

Throughout the year, Chelmsford CVS will look for ways to highlight the incredible work of our member organisations and encourage more people to give back to their community. Together, we aim to spark a renewed spirit of generosity, volunteering and community connection.”
