Chelmsford 100

A festival of talking, walking, creating, and connecting that showcases some of the talents, resourcefulness, and community spirit found right across the district.

Volunteering

There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities in Chelmsford. As host of the Volunteer Centre we can connect you to your perfect voluntary opportunity.

The Chelmsford Men’s Shed

The Chelmsford Shed aims to be a progression of your typical garden shed, where men spend many hours of their days pursuing their practical interests,  with the introduction of a community element.

Live Well Link Well

We all want to live well but sometimes we need help to do this. Live Well Link Well is a free and confidential Social Prescribing service that provides practical or emotional  support of a non-medical nature.

Chelmsford 4 Good

Our corporate brokering project that works to raise the profile of local small charities with businesses. This includes helping your small business to encourage your employees to volunteer or help in other ways to support local!

Winter Warm

Working with a number of trusted local delivery partners we offer winter warm resilience support to the local community and patients at Broomfield Hospital.

SWOT

The Supporting Wellbeing Operations Team project enables health and social care students to gain practical experience of the obstacles faced by vulnerable people leaving hospital, whilst providing vital community support.

Mayors Awards for Voluntary Service

Working alongside the Mayor of Chelmsford, we strive to recognise some of the many people who give time so generously for the good of others or to enable money to be raised for charity.

A database of Voluntary and Community Sector organisations that makes finding the appropriate organisation easy.

Ukrainians in Chelmsford

We work in partnership to support Ukrainian families in our city.

Chelmsford 4 Good Charity Shop

Our shop helps to support our own charitable objectives, provides volunteering opportunities for people with support needs & has enables the Chelmsford 4 Good Future Fund.

Holiday Hamper

In collaboration with Chelmsford Child & Family Wellbeing Service, Chelmsford Foodbank, The Community Sport & Wellbeing Team & we help deliver holiday hampers to local families in need.

SWF Community Garden

In partnership with SWF Rotary, the RHS, and Meadowcroft Garden Centre

Community Craft Group

Our ladies’ craft group that knits and crochets things for good causes, over lots of tea, cake and laughter!
The group meets with the support of Bubu’s Community Hub CIC.

Tea, Talk & Toast at Number 11.

In partnership with Culture Chelmsford, we are helping to deliver this free, warm, community Living Room where anyone can pop in for a cup of tea, a slice of toast, and a friendly chat.

Pre-Loved Prom

Fashion shouldn’t cost the earth.
Collecting donations, and providing dresses, suits, and accessories free of charge to any young person who can’t afford to attend their school prom.

Tennyson House Livewell Garden

Set up as a Social Prescribing garden and supported by the RHS, this group supports and encourages volunteers who are living with additional needs or barriers to inclusion.

Writtle Dementia Garden

Transforming the back garden of Writtle Surgery into a beautiful, sensory garden for the benefit of patients and carers who are living with dementia.

Computer Club

We run this friendly Computer Club at Moulsham Lodge Community Trust alongside Jeremy Anderson.

My Weight Matters

Working in partnership with ACE Lifestyle, thanks to the support of trained volunteers we operate an accredited weekly community weigh in service here at the Centre and Danbury Medical Practice.

Seated Yoga

We run this gentle, seated exercise at Age Concern alongside Sam Bellis.

Volfest

Our annual High Street event celebrating volunteers and volunteering in Chelmsford
