Our members are at the heart of everything we do.
Chelmsford CVS has a membership of over 300 charities, voluntary and community groups and social enterprises; representative of the variety and vibrancy of Chelmsford – from Art Society to Advocacy, from Retirement Action Group to Sport in the Community, from Youth Club to Neighbourhood Watch. All working to deliver local services and activities across Chelmsford district.
New members are always welcome!
Member Benefits
Membership is FREE, but we do ask for a payment of £10 to £20 each year (depending on your income) towards the cost of accessing our services. As a member of the charity there are lots of benefits, you can receive, just some of them are listed below:

Regular E-Update, email newsletters, which highlight key topics relevant to voluntary groups.
Discounted meeting room hire.

Free information and support on all aspects of setting up and running a charity.
Use of other resources at low cost, such as exhibition display boards and PA systems.
Free access to our specialist library on all aspects of voluntary sector management.
Free help to publicise your charity’s activities and events.
Apply for membership
Membership is FREE and is open to any non-profit, community and voluntary group, registered charity or social enterprise working to benefit the people of Chelmsford district. Faith groups, churches and religious organisations can be considered for membership for their community activities which are open to all, but not for their proselytising mission.
Or, contact us to request a paper copy. Please return the application form with a copy of your constitution, or terms of reference or memorandum and articles of agreement, if you have one, plus any literature about your group’s activities. We will acknowledge receipt of your application, which will then be passed for approval by our trustee board.
