Support the NEW Vélo Essex bike ride - 19th and 20th September 2020

Vélo Essex is a 100 mile and 50 mile fully closed road bike ride starting and finishing at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.

There are a variety of roles available to help support these 15000 riders. From registering and welcoming the riders on Saturday 19th September, feeding them at pit stops to giving out all important medal on the finish line, every volunteer on Vélo Essex is so important to ensure it’s a day to remember for all.

Bag Packing - M&S Chelmsford, Friday 10th & Saturday 11th April

Basic Essex Accident Rescue Service (BEARS) are Marks & Spencer Chelmsford’s Charity of the Year.

On Friday 10th & Saturday 11th April we will be packing customer’s shopping bags at the end of tills, collecting money and raising awareness of our charity. This is a lovely way to raise funds and have a laugh while chatting to shoppers.

We start at 11am and finish at 5pm; any hours you could give in-between would be very gratefully received.

Get involved with Chelmsford's summer festivals!

There are lots of ways to get involved in events organised by Chelmsford City Events, which include the 3foot People Festival, Fling Festival, SWFest, City Photo Competition, Older People’s Information Day, Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration, and the Discovery Festival.

We hope that you’re enthusiastic, hands on and keen to get involved. In return, we’ll ensure a worthwhile experience with a dedicated team. There is also free tea and coffee, and free entry to the event you’re working at.

Get stuck in with anything! From pitching flags and hanging banners to handing out water, medals, and high-fives you definitely won’t be twiddling your thumbs.

We are looking for Marshalls to help us run different sections of Chelmsford Festival – which takes place from 13th June – 5th July and will include a carnival and music event.

Don a fabulous Daffodil hat and help us raise vital funds to provide Marie Curie nursing care for people with terminal illnesses in Chelmsford and the surrounding area.
