Safer Chelmsford and Maldon District Community Safety Partnership are hosting a free PREVENT conference on Wednesday 4 May 2016 from 9:30am to 16:00pm at Anglia Ruskin University, Lecture Theatre, MAB221, Lord Ashcroft Building, Bishop Hall Lane, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 1SQ.

The main aims of the event are to:

  • Educate Community Safety Practitioners around the PREVENT agenda and wider Safeguarding issues
  • Support mainstream voices in our faith communities and build a more cohesive community
  • Showcase local education programmes
  • Expanding existing knowledge around the PREVENT agenda

The day will consist of speakers and light refreshments including a networking lunch. Key speakers include:

  • Imam Irfan Chishti (MBE)- Managing Director- Me and You Education – Ideology session
  • Sangita Mittra- Director- New Generation Development Agency – Supporting local communities
  • Spencer Clarke- Public Protection Manager- Chelmsford City Council/ Maldon District Council – Local safeguarding profile
  • Tess Wisby – Essex Police – PREVENT Engagement Team
