Free Counselling For Unpaid, Family Carers
Action for Family Carers has received funding to provide a free, confidential counselling service where carers can receive individual counselling sessions from qualified counsellors in Essex.
Carers may wish to explore their feelings around:
- Transitions – going into care, beginning or end of caring role
- Depression, anxiety, worries or stress about the past, the present or the future
- Bereavement or other loss, there are many losses which can affect our lives
- Illness, accident or trauma
- Shyness, loneliness or difficulties in a social setting
- Relationship problems, anger, frustration, feeling pressured
All Counsellors working with us are members of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or equivalent and work within their Ethical Framework. Sessions will last for 50 minutes and will be weekly for six weeks. To find out more, please contact the Adult Carers Services Manager or team on 01621 851 640.

Chelmsford Carers Support Group
Join Action for Family Carers for support and information and meet other carers over a tea and coffee at The Centre Supporting Voluntary Action, Burgess Well House, Coval Lane, Chelmsford CM1 1FW.

Evening Carers Support Group
Meet other carers and come and join Action for Family Carers for information and support at the Angel Pub, Broomfield Road, Broomfield, CM1 7AH.
The group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Action for Family Carers buy your first drink and there is a varied menu for light meals if required.
