Mid-Essex charity, Hearing Help Essex, is to open a new drop in service for the hard of hearing in Central Chelmsford.

The first session will be held on Friday 3rd October at Sadlers House, 2 Legg Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1AH and run between 10 – 11.30 am.

Hearing aid wearers will be able to get their NHS hearing aid with ear mould, cleaned and retubed.

The service is free and no appointment is required, further sessions will run at the same time on the first Friday of the month. To keep a hearing aid working effectively it needs to be cleaned and re-tubed every 4-6 months.

Manager Heather Stuart said:

‘This session will complement the sessions we currently run in Chelmsford, Braintree and Maldon. Although there is no parking available at Sadlers House it is ideally located in Central Chelmsford for public transport and car parks. We are just behind the cathedral.  Also Friday is market day in Chelmsford so an excellent day to visit the city. We are grateful to the other occupants of the building, Southend and Central MIND and Renew Counselling, for their support as without their consent this session could not take place.’
