TEE OFF WITH ESSEX BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS

essex boys & girls golfOn Wednesday 1st July 2015, Essex Boys and Girls Clubs will again host their Annual Classic Golf Day. This is a relaxed day of great golf and great company in aid of a great cause – our work with young people in Essex and East London.

Golfers start the day with a full English breakfast, before a shotgun start and 18 holes of competitive golf on the beautiful North Essex course at Gosfield Lake Golf Club. A luncheon follows, with comedy entertainment, a raffle and an auction with a variety of prizes and sporting memorabilia hosted by ex-boxer John Conteh. Last year some of the prizes included a ‘Day At The Races’, exclusive use of a Maserati for 24 hours and the opportunity to win £10,000 of Bang & Olufsen entertainment equipment! There are also a variety of competitions throughout the day and the chance to win one of our memorial trophies.

You can enter a team of three and have the opportunity to play with a celebrity player for the day for a donation of £375 or you can fill a team of four for just £400.

Gosfield Lake Golf Club is a Championship Course on 230 acres of rolling Essex parkland to the north of Gosfield Lake where golfers enjoy peace and tranquillity away from the bustle of modern life. In this idyllic setting the Course winds around and over the lakes through woods and across streams in some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Designed by Sir Henry Cotton, he believes, “the Championship Course here at Gosfield has the potential to become the finest inland test of golf in England”.

Our annual Golf Classic raises funds to support our continued youth work. Essex Boys and Girls Clubs works with voluntary youth groups in Essex, and provides an extensive programme of activities to create opportunities for young people aged 11-19 to develop their character, enhance their skills and build their own bright future.
