Home Library Service from Essex Libraries
If you find getting to a library difficult, or the mobile library does not stop close enough, the Home Library Service is available to anyone living in their own home, in sheltered accommodation or in a care home.
It is a free service with books delivered to your home by trained volunteers who have been DBS checked and carry identification cards. With the Home Library Service, you can borrow books, music CDs, DVDs, and audio books free of charge and there are no overdue charges.
You can also request items online for your volunteer to bring on their next visit – or simply let your volunteer know what you would like when they call.
If you are visually impaired and like to listen to books on CD, ask about the RNIB talking book service. E-audio books from Essex Libraries gives you even more choice.
