NAVCA the National Association for Voluntary & Community Action believe the Lobbying Bill is a direct threat to the independence of charity campaigning. It creates a new lobbying register and widens the definition of ‘non party campaigning’ close to elections.

In response to widespread opposition, the Government has agreed to amend the Bill. However, there are still concerns that the Bill will hamper smaller charities.

If you would like to know more NAVCA have a Briefing that you can read here: NAVCA Briefing

Please write to local MPs asking them to oppose clause 27 of the Bill and the minister Chloe Smith pschloesmith@cabinet-office.gsi.gov.uk
