Please assist in promoting this year’s flu campaign – getting the flu jab is quick, safe and free.
Each year, the Government sets targets for achieving vaccination in target groups in an attempt to achieve the best protection for the at-risk population. Last year, and including in Essex, most of those targets were missed, leaving some of the more vulnerable population exposed to flu infection unnecessarily.
If you are in one of the recognised risk groups*, or know someone who is, please make sure you or they respond to your GPs’ invitation to be vaccinated free of charge, or contact your GP if you haven’t heard from them by mid October.
The flu jab is free, regardless of age, if you:
- Are over 65
- Have a health condition such as severe asthma, diabetes, heart, chest, liver or kidney complaint or lowered immunity,
