The Chelmsford Shed Logo 2016

The Chelmsford Shed aims to be a progression of your typical garden shed, where men spend many hours of their days pursuing their practical interests,  with the introduction of a community element. Many older men who have their own sheds have often developed their own skills and interests, but having a larger facility, and the opportunity to share and develop these skills with others is something new. It is less common for men to open up and seek help with their health in particular, so offering a place where they can get together to form relationships and confide with others is important.

Connect WellDo you want to feel more involved in your community, meet new people or make some changes to improve your health and wellbeing?

Then why not let Connect Well help make the first step towards making change a little easier.

Keep It Clear is Anglian Water’s campaign to help reduce the misery, cost, bad smells and potential flooding and pollution caused by avoidable blockages. If you would like us to have a stand at your event to promote the campaign please contact Peter.

What can you do? Easy. Just put all your waste in the bin or, where possible, recycle oil and food waste in your doorstep food caddy collection or home composting. Small changes in the kitchen and bathroom make a big difference.

Timebanking is volunteering with a twist! It’s a project which supports and encourages people to help each other and a great way to be part of your community by offering some of your spare time and skills to others.  You can also ask for some help yourself –  perhaps you need help with your garden.  In turn, you may be able to offer someone else some help, perhaps becoming a telephone buddy to a housebound person.  Let’s help build a community where everyone is respected and regarded as an asset!
