Chelmsford High Street recently hosted VOLFEST 2019, which was organised by Chelmsford Centre Supporting Voluntary Action, bringing together over 60 local organisations filling colourful gazebos and showcasing specialist service vehicles.

Local charities and community groups were able to speak to members of the public about an extensive range of voluntary opportunities as well as about the work they do within the local community.

“We all really enjoyed it and we got to meet lots of potential new service users. There was a real buzz in the air and it showed just how thriving our sector is locally.” said one of the charity exhibitors.”

Lorraine Jarvis Chief Office at the Centre said “Our second High Street Takeover to promote volunteering and the vital work that local charities do saw crowds of people along the High Street, chatting to the various groups, to each other, and finding out how all the organisations showcasing could benefit them. It was a great atmosphere and an amazing day!”
