Chelmsford Theatre Workshop – The Old Court Theatre, Springfield Road, Chelmsford (opposite the prison). 

Midsummer is  a play with songs – a modern romantic comedy – first performed at the Edinburgh fringe festival 2008.  It is set in Edinburgh and is about  a man and a woman – the onset of middle age (they are both 35 – obviously the playwright is young……35 middle age – !!!! – they are surely just out of adolescence!) and a ‘lost weekend’ 2 actors play 10 roles  and sing all the songs.  It’s a quirky light-hearted play with some serious bits – just the thing for a summers evening.

About CTW –  Chelmsford Theatre Workshop is a local theatre group that puts on plays in the Old Court Theatre Springfield Road.  The theatre is entirely self financing and run by volunteers. We welcome new members and encourage people to come along and try something new!   We  can always accommodate new people backstage, or running the theatre, e.g.  box office and Bar and all our auditions are ‘open’  so new people can come along and get acting parts.  We also pride ourselves on the age range of our members – from 16 – 81.
